Our Story.
Custom Cut opened in 1968 on the second floor above Davis Pharmacy on Ridgewood Avenue. The shop was modest, with 4 chairs, but the focus was anything but. Owner Carmen Iozzia provided the singular best hot towel, shave and cut available anywhere.
Period.
Carmen defined the barbering experience which would become the benchmark that barbers strive to emulate today.
Carmen’s son, Frank, and daughter, Terri, worked for Custom Cut as they relocated to Wilsey Square in 1980, and expanded their offerings to include Salon services for women. Frank assumed the family business in 1990, and when Custom Cut outgrew the Wilsey Square location, Custom Cut Godwin Avenue was built --- a space designed to heighten and refine the client experience. Terri took ownership in 2015, and continue build Custom Cut Salon’s reputation as the leader in client experience.
Today, Custom Cut is a full service salon, offering hair cut and color, manicure, pedicure, facials, special event makeup and private rooms for waxing and hair replacement.
Custom Cut clients and staff have always been an extension of the family that built Custom Cut Salon. Together we celebrate life’s special events with our clients; but more importantly, we celebrate life with our clients.
